Pure zinc production demands strict control over purity and trace elements. Manufacturers often work with high-purity zinc and critical zinc-based products. Any chemical deviations can directly compromise material performance, surface quality, corrosion resistance and subsequent processing. Zamak alloys, Zn-Al-Mg-Cu die-casting alloys, also require precise composition control, especially for aluminium, magnesium and copper. Minor composition shifts can greatly affect melt fluidity, mechanical strength, dimensional stability and mould service life. Iron, lead, cadmium and tin also need close monitoring; excessive levels lead to brittleness, poor surface finish and early casting failures. In Zamak manufacturing, OES is widely applied for melt monitoring, batch adjustment, scrap sorting and final alloy certification.
