
Copper-nickel alloys are widely used in marine systems and heat exchangers for corrosion-resistant service, where precise chemical analysis is mandatory. Minor nickel content deviations can compromise corrosion resistance and mechanical properties, leading to customer rejection.
Fabricators of Cu–Ni alloys rely on OES mainly for incoming material inspection and grade validation prior to manufacturing. These are high-value components, and rejected material carries substantial costs. Users therefore require excellent instrument stability, reliable repeatability, and trustworthy test results for every sample.
Given the critical requirements for Cu–Ni alloy testing, DF410 is the recommended solution.
Entry-level instruments are generally not suitable for this application.
