Brass & Bronze

Brass and bronze manufacturers rely on OES to prevent grade mix-ups, one of the most frequent and expensive risks in copper alloy production. Many brass and bronze grades look identical visually, yet slight variations in chemical composition can greatly impact machinability, corrosion resistance and end-product performance.

For these materials, manufacturers mainly test copper, zinc for brass, tin for bronze, and lead to optimize machinability, alongside minor alloying and residual elements. Consistent grade identification and batch-to-batch repeatability are key priorities, especially when multiple grades are produced in the same workshop.

DF700meets basic grade verification needs for brass and bronze. 

When handling more alloy grades or stricter composition control requirements, DF410 /DF660 becomes the preferred option.
