For structural steel and TMT re-rolling mills, OES is a vital quality control tool across production. Manufacturers use spectrometers to check billet composition before rolling, keep heat-to-heat consistency, and guarantee finished products comply with IS, ASTM or custom customer standards. Steel composition cannot be adjusted after rolling, so accurate and fast analysis is indispensable.

For TMT and structural steel applications, customers typically focus on elements such as carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulphur, and microalloying elements like vanadium, niobium, and titanium. In many modern specifications, Nitrogen measurement is also required, as it directly influences mechanical properties such as strength, ductility, and ageing behaviour.

DF660 is the preferred option for TMT and structural steel makers, particularly for nitrogen analysis or high-volume testing. 

If nitrogen testing is unnecessary and only a limited range of alloys are measured, DF410 delivers well-balanced performance and flexibility.
